There are two major volcanos on the big island that have dozens of lesser active craters.

Maui's Haleakala last erupted in 1790 (and will do so again), Lanai was still smoking when the native Hawaiians arrived, Oahu was active 10,000 years ago, and Loihi located offshore will break the surface in 10,000 years or so.
